Sixth Form Course Information Booklet 2025-2027
Applying to Backwell Sixth Form is an online process and the deadline for applications was Friday 6 December 2024. Please note that late applications will be accepted and we will do our best to accommodate subject choices, however those subjects may already be full and there could be reduced choice in terms of subject combinations.
The application form for students who will be new to Backwell School in September 2025 is different to that of students currently studying at Backwell School as we require further information from you. Please ensure that you complete the correct application form.

Provisional Application Timeline for September 2025 entry

| Friday 25 October 2024 | Online applications open |
| Friday 6 December 2024 | Deadline for applications. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered. However, whilst we will do our best to accommodate subject choices, those subjects may already be full and there could be reduced choice in terms of subject combinations |
| February 2025 onwards | Sixth Form interviews take place for all applicants. For students new to Backwell and their parents/carers, this will include a guided tour of the school campus, visiting live lessons and an opportunity to ask questions |
| May 2025 | Conditional offers made to students |
| Friday 4 July 2025 |
Sixth Form Transition Day (attendance is compulsory if Backwell Sixth Form is your first or second choice) |
| Thursday 21 August 2025 | GCSE Results Day |
| Tuesday 26 August 2025 | Deadline to complete online registration at Backwell Sixth Form |
| Thursday 4 September 2025 | First day of term and Sixth Form Induction for Year 12 students |
