We are very lucky to have a large school site full of trees, greenery, a pond and plenty of wildlife; many birds, bugs and a fox (!) reside amongst our school buildings.

As a School the environment is a very important focus for us and our student Environment Committee have been thinking of ways to further increase bio-diversity on our land.

Following a successful application, we were donated 85 trees, of a wide range of varieties to be planted on our school field to further increase the types of blossom, fruit and berries available for wildlife.

Each tutor group was invited down to the school field to help plant some of the trees – many students had never done this before and they really enjoyed being out in the fresh air, right at the start of the school day working on something that will be here for years to come.

We hope the new trees take well – we are keeping them watered as they bed in – so that we will have Blackthorn, Crab Apple, Dog Rose, Elder, Rowan and Wild Cherry trees and bushes for future staff and students to enjoy.
