On Monday 3 June 2024, Louis B, Anna B-F, Maya P, Martha N and Jacob M took part in the Foreign Languages Translation Bee Regional Final at The University of Bath. There were only 57 students out of 4056 who made it through to this stage, so this was a fantastic achievement! They all worked really hard to prepare in the months leading up to the regional final, and performed really well on the day, translating as many sentences as possible from English into either French, German or Spanish in one minute, in front of a large audience - no mean feat! In addition, Anna and Maya came 1^st and 2^nd in French and Spanish and have made it through to the National Final at Cambridge University which takes place at the end of the month!

We are so proud of what all five students have achieved; they are a credit to Backwell School. We wish Anna and Maya all the best for the final!
