Congratulations to our Year 7 Boys, who beat St Peter’s (Exeter) 3-0 on Wednesday 10 January. Oliver C scored all three goals and was player of the match!  It was a solid performance and a brilliant day out for the boys!  We are now through to the last 16 nationally! 

591 teams have fallen away, and Backwell Year 7 Football team can proudly take their place in the last 16 or top 3% of the country.

A huge achievement for Backwell school but we know they have the attitude and talent to go even further.  The squad have scored 32 goals in five games, with four clean sheets and only one goal conceded.

Update on the quarter-final match ....

Then, on Friday 29 January the football team took on Budmouth School in the quarter-finals of the national cup.  A fine attacking performance, with multiple shots on target, was sadly not matched by the final result: a 0-2 defeat.

The team played with great skill and good sportsmanship; congratulations to the whole squad, who we are sure can look forward to more success in the coming years.
