On Wednesday 10 May Backwell School's Team 'G Force' took part in the regional final of the F1 in Schools Competition.

The Team, formed of six Year 12 students have been working very hard over the past few weeks, to create a car as aerodynamic as possible to complete in the track race.

This prestigious competition took place at the Bristol and Bath Science Park and saw G Force taking away three awards - Best Portfolio, 2^nd Place (in class) and Lightning Reaction Time.

In addition to racing their car on a 20m track at speeds of up to 40mph, our students had to present their Engineering Portfolio, Team Structure, Identity and Strategy to a panel of Engineers and F1 in Schools elite.

The teamwork leading up to the event, and on the day itself, was incredible; incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Business. To come away with three awards is just amazing. Well done G Force!
